Students who are currently seniors in high school or who have never taken college classes after graduating from high school should apply as first-year applicants. Our admissions process is holistic, taking into account a student's personal and academic backgrounds and accomplishments.
If you are interested in applying for W&L scholarships, you must submit the Johnson Scholarship application by Dec. 1, 2024. The supplemental scholarship application is found in the W&L portion of the Common App, under the Johnson Scholarship Program section.
Students who have previously enrolled full-time at another college or university may apply to Washington and Lee as a transfer student. Students who have not yet graduated from secondary school but are dual-enrolled in high school and college courses should apply as first-year students, not as transfers. W&L does not accept the Common App for Transfers. Transfer students should apply using the W&L application for transfer students. Information about applying as a transfer student to W&L can be found on our website here.
